From Warp to Cloth
‘From Warp to Cloth’ is a course that consists of four two-hour sessions and is suitable for beginners that want to explore basics of weaving. Working on different types of looms you will be introduced to weaving terminology, techniques and tips to confidently complete your own library of weaving samples.
First session will introduce three elements of weave: warp, weft and structure. Working on a simple card loom will help you understand how these elements interact and learn basic finishing techniques. Moving on you will use a frame loom and yarns in a variety of colours and textures to explore the artistic side of weaving. Finally you will learn the anatomy of a table loom and how to use it, what can you weave on it and what the limitations are.
At the end of the course you will have the knowledge and experience to design and make small weaving projects and continue your weaving adventure.
